Let's Change NY Laws To Be Dog Friendly

Since 25% of all taxpayers own dogs, all parks should be 25% off leash.

Let's Make Obvious Changes to Law

Park Enforcement Is Out Of Control

Park Rangers Need To Chill Out

No one is suggesting that dogs should bite people.  If you can't control your dog, your dog should never be off leash.  But over aggressive enforcement lessons taxpayers enjoyment, and dogs enjoyment.  If a dog owner has full control over the dog and can call it back at any time, then there is no harm in walking alone with your dog in the park woods at 6:00 a.m.

Example 1: On a frozen, barren, closed golf course (3/29/25)

The most recent violation I got was on a cold rainy March day in Grover Cleveland Golf Course.  I was just finishing a circle around the entire 150 acre golf course.  I hadn't seen a person the entire time.  .  The golf course wouldn't open for another month.   You would think, who cares if my dog is off leash chasing geese?  Well, a Park Ranger drove up the driveway, saw me,  called me over and gave me a violation.  We were the only two people in the whole golf course.   And who could blame him? The 8 lb. dog that ran to my arms immediately looked truly vicious.  :-)  A picture is below.

Example 2: My First Run in With Park Enforcement Overkill

Was when I parked at Chestnut Ridge Park 8 years ago, my dog, Calypso jumped out of the car.  I grabbed my leash, leashed the dog and looked up.  A Park Enforcement officer came up and said 'Your dog was off leash'  I said, "You saw him jump out of the car and I leashed him immediately."   He said, 'It doesn't matter."

Little did I know, this was the start of a budding new relationship of overeager rules enforcement.  Thank god Park Rangers aren't traffic cops, or no one would be driving one mile an hour over the speed limit.

Don't let Dog Haters make you and your dog fat and lazy.

Please call thee three numbers I gave you and tell them that you think all parks should have 25% of their land dedicated to dog owners AND/OR make obvious rule changes.  They can contact me if they need help thinking about simple law changes.  Or, they could just ask any dog owner with a brain.

Who am I?

I'm just a taxpayer who cares a lot about the environment and attempts to do good in the world.  I've been recognized by the National Wildlife Federation https://info.smartevals.com/nwf/ for adopting over 140,000 acres of land with them via their adopt an acre program and have founded an organization that has planted over 6000 trees in Ripley NY.  We challenge other groups to do the same: https://1000treeclub.com/  I also am an entrepreneur and my 100% American Made company https://info.smartevals.com brings millions of dollars into the Buffalo economy every year from other parts of the world.

Here's the vicious dog that was alone in a 155 acre golf course on a frigid spring day, watching me get a ticket from an overzealous Park Ranger.

Contact me if you know how to help this movement.
